Mrs. Frigge (Troy University) stated that institutions should require abroad programs for certain majors. â€Å"If we are going to offer a Global Business degree, then how is that global when students aren’t leaving the states?† She later followed up with the idea that any major should go abroad. She stated that some universities has even required that student do go a aboard sometime in their college career. That they come in as a freshman and they will pay as part of their tuition each year to pay for the abroad experience. Doing this will help with that accessibility/ affordability piece that most students worry about. â€Å"Why not get a head start as a freshman and pay for it before it is time to leave for the abroad program.† Loveland (2006) in the same interview earlier with President Sanford Ungar of Goucher College mentioned that they are an institution that requires all undergraduate students to study abroad at least once before they graduate. President Ungar suggested that many students have implied that when they go abroad, their experiences abroad had a direct relationship to the things that they do back here in the United States. Mohandis Karamchand Gandhi Essays - Indian People, Asian People

Mohandis Karamchand Gandhi Mohandis Karamchand Gandhi was born in October 2,1869. He grew up in a middle-class Hindu family. He married at the age of 13 to Kasturbu a girl his age. As a young boy, he traveled to England to study law. In 1891, he returned to India but did not succeed as a lawyer. Gandhi thought it would be better off if he moved to South Africa to practice law but all he got was a taste of the Apartheid. This is where he starts a non-violent fight called Ahimsa. He called it Satyagraha or "truth force." Satyagraha was in truth civil disobedience. This was rooted by Hindu beliefs and Christian traditions. Also, philosopher Henry David Thoreau influenced Gandhi. His goal was to "convert the wrongdoer." To make the world aware of British injustice laws we allow the government to punish him with out striking back. One example of this is when Gandhi burned a pass that was required carried with you if you were not white the British officials beat him up for this. Another example was The Salt March in 1930 when Gandhi led his followers from his home to the coast (200 miles) so they could make there own salt in stead of buying the heavily priced salt. In both situations, Gandhi was arrested but it did spark a lot of attention. In 1915 Gandhi left South Africa and went to India. When World War two started the INC (Indian National Congress) refused to help Britain unless they were granted freedom. When they were denied Gandhi and members from congress started the "Quit India" movement. They asked the people of India not to corporate with the British. In turn, Gandhi was once again imprisoned along with 20,000 congress members. As the war went on Britain was becoming to weak to hold on to India. As independence came near Hindu-Muslim violence broke out. The Muslims felt that their rights would not be respected in a Hindu dominating country. As tension grew Gandhi tried very hard to fight this. He almost fasted to his death. By 1946, widespread rioting broke out. Instead of fighting Britain, India was fighting it's self. Britain decided to partition India in two: One nation was Hindu dominated India lead by Jawaharal Nehru as Prime Minister and the other was Pakistan with most of the population Muslim lead by Jinnah as governor general. Finally, India was independent. He was deeply distressed by the religious partition of the country into India and Pakistan. When violence broke out between Hindus and Muslims, he resorted to fasts and visits to the troubled areas in efforts to end the violence. He was on one such prayer vigil in New Delhi when a Hindu extremist who objected to Gandhi's tolerance for the Muslims fatally shot him. Gandhi was a great Indian nationalist and spiritual leader who developed the practice of nonviolent disobedience that forced Great Britain to grant independence to India (1947). He dedicated his life to better the world. He even got the title of Mahatma, which means "Great Soul." It was a lost to every one when he died.

Athens vs. History essays

Athens vs. History essays Athens and Sparta being both of Greek origin they shared many tings in common. However they also had their differences. We will see how Athens promoted education while Sparta adopted a military way of life. As well as what key points they both shared. Sparta and Athens governments were similar in some ways but for the most part were quite different. Athens had a president that was chosen daily. They had a council made up of 500 citizens that were chosen randomly and served a term of one year. This was the first civilization we see to have a crude type of democracy. Sparta on the other hand was an oligarchy. Their government was made up two kings. Five Ephors or officials that were chosen selectively to run many aspects of daily life. They had a council of citizens that could voice their concerns on certain matters. Both however shared in common a council of citizens. The rights of people in the two city-states differed as well. In Athens the people valued education. Many of the families that could afford it sent their sons to school. The girls received little if any education. Women were seen as being inferior to men and had no other parts in life than to take care of the house and produce children. Men on the other hand had a lot of freedom and could do many things. At age 30 many of the men were put on the assembly to help with the government. Sparta had more of an equal view on women. Sparta encouraged its women to exercise regularly. This was thought to help bring strong offspring. As soon as the boys were old enough they begun military training. They served in the military until they had done 30 yrs. Then they could move on to do whatever they felt. However they still had to come back and eat at the military barracks as a way to keep them connected to the army. Many of the men after this got to serve on the council. However both sadly deem ed women to be lower than men. ...

How to Write a Press Release

How to Write a Press Release How to Write a Press Release If your business has news to share, you can do so via a press release. But what exactly goes into a good press release? And how can you write one? Check out our tips below to find out. 1. Pick an Eye-Catching Headline Press releases are designed to get your business in the news, so treat them like a news story. And one thing that every good news story has is an eye-catching headline. Ideally, this will let the people you contact know exactly what your press release is about and why it is important. Try to keep your headline punchy, too. If you need more space to give extra detail, you can add a subheading after the main one. 2. Think About Your Goals The content of your press release will depend on what you want to achieve. Are you promoting an event? Letting customers or clients know about a change in your business? Think about: How your news affects your business and those involved What you want readers to take away from your press release How you want people to act upon this information If you can focus on these details, your press releases will be more effective. Make sure, too, to mention all the key players involved (e.g., staff, stakeholders, clients, and customers). 3. Make It Quotable Journalists love it when you make their lives easier. So if you want to get coverage from your press release, try to include the following: Soundbites from key players such as the company owner or CEO Statistics related to your news (e.g., number of sales, revenue increases) Any images you want used alongside your news Journalists can then use these when writing up the press release as news. 4. Pick the Perfect Time The timing of your press release is almost as important as its content. But the best time for a press release will depend on what you are writing about: When it is about something that has just happened, release it as soon as possible afterwards. If possible, write a draft version in advance. If it is about an upcoming event, send it 3-5 days before you need coverage. You may also want to include an embargo date for publication. In addition, it is usually best to send press releases first thing in the morning (e.g., 9am) when journalists will be checking their emails. On a similar note, the best days to send press releases are usually Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday (never send one on Friday before the weekend). Summary: How to Write a Press Release When writing press releases, keep the following tips in mind: Write an eye-catching headline to grab the reader’s attention Think about your goals and tailor its content accordingly Provide statistics and quotes from key players for journalists to use Think about the best date and time to send out your press release And don’t forget to get your business documents proofread! Business in McDonalds is very sensitive to inflation and income levels. In macro economics inflation is closely linked to economic growth, interest rates, employment, consumption and demand. The impact of economic slowdown, globalization and liberalization phenomena in competition demand the industries to be more efficient through innovative production and management processes. Working conditions in my job with REED were conducive for me to learn Word and Excel since I had to enter data in various forms relating to customer service.
